Leading Australian Bank

The Head of Business Banking for a leading Australian bank lacked effective interpersonal skills to deal with a range of issues facing the business.

GPI undertook a capability audit with the client to identify individual strengths and weaknesses. It was confirmed that the individual lacked effective interpersonal skills to be fully effective in the role, particularly when dealing with senior level executives and Directors.


GPI initiated a coaching plan to enhance the client’s communication and interpersonal skills, with a clear and achievable strategy for dealing more effectively with senior executives and Directors.


As a result of coaching, the client was able to considerably improve the quality of his interaction with senior stakeholders. And within 5 years the client was rated as one of the top 5 executives within the bank, and touted as a possible future head.
